Just Because: The McKenzie Family

Almost two weeks ago I had the pleasure of taking photos for the McKenzie Family.
I met Mom and Dad (Stephanie & Cory) when I was in highschool. We were acquaintances, knew "of" each other but would never say we were friends per se.
Yet over the years Stephanie and I have somehow stayed in touch via blogs and facebook. So when she asked me if I was available, the answer was an immediate YES!

We started off chasing around oh so cute Rylan!
What is it with kids wanting to pick up the biggest rock possible?
Lesson to be learned maybe?

Loved his hair

The newest member of the family sweet Sophia

My fav :)

Cory & Stephanie are highschool sweethearts.
I clearly remember the night he told a mutual friend of ours that she was "the one"

He, he, he

More of sweet baby Sophia

Cory, Stephanie, Rylan& Sophia thank you for the afternoon we spent together. I had a lot of fun chatting and catching up.
It's so nice to call you friends.

Stayed tuned...Stephanie also did a Trash the Dress session.
Yeah she rocked it to say the least :)

Gros Morne National Park: Holly & Jason (Part 4)

This is the 4th and final post for Jason & Holly's wedding.
I need to finish up since I have another awesome wedding coming up tomorrow not to mention NUMEROUS portrait sessions that I need to get up here as well. And trust me, they are ALL worth the wait :)

Holly has a Dutch background and it would only be appropriate to have clogs to mark the occasion

After the ceremony on the Catamaran we headed to the reception hall *note awesome paper lanterns* mentioned previously here.....where Holly's Dad had requested a dance with her while she wear the clogs.

I love that they're holding hands. I would also like to mention that I think both Jason's & Holly's families are such wonderful people.
Two moments from the day stood out particularly for me however.
First was on the catamaran when I was standing off to the side doing my photographer thing when I overheard Holly's Mom say to one of Holly's sisters..."She's Happy"
I wanted to start crying right then and there, I didn't but it sure touched my heart.
The second moment was when Holly's Dad made a point to come talk to me to tell me he appreciated that I interacted with the guests, most notable taking the time to dance with Holly :)
The entire day I loved watching the Kortleve family interacting and taking in the Nfld sites and traditions.
To both the Jason's family (Cullihalls/Reids) and Holly's family thank you, I felt so welcomed and comfortable among you.

To clue up a few more random favourites from throughout the day
Another newlywed couple

Sydney will be taking over Christa Hann Photography when I retire :)

We saw bald eagles, porpoises & whales

He, He cousins

Holly & Jason...THANK YOU! You are such dear friends to both Kristen and me.
We are so happy for you and wish you nothing but all the happiness and love any marriage can bring :)
Congrats and much love!

Gros Morne National Park Wedding: Holly & Jason (Part 3)

I wanted the cupcake tower to have a post to itself because I love it soooooo much
Myrna from The Chocolate Moose Bakery & Cafe was the creative hand behind the beautiful handiwork.

And a shot of the rings on the cupcakes with Holly's "Holland" cake topper
My FAV image for sure :)

And later on the final post...part 4.
Stay tuned

Gros Morne National Park Wedding: Holly & Jason (Part 2)

Jason is from a small town within Gros Morne National Park called Norris Point.
In this small town is a Catamaran boat tour, the catamaran being named the "Em-Cat"
This is where their beautiful and simple ceremony took place. The Em-cat was a perfect venue for the small crowd. For more information on this venue click HERE

The rain even cleared up enough for a few more photos

After the above photo was taken we saw whales and porpoises. One of the crew made the comment that he felt it was a good omen.

This next series are my favourites from the whole day

And it's not finished yet...part 3 coming soon

Gros Morne National Park Wedding: Holly & Jason (Part 1)

It rained, it rained and it rained some more.
But it didn't dampen anyone's spirits or excitement for the day the lay ahead.
In fact, rain on a wedding day is good luck.
Holly & Jason had decided that a small, simple & casual wedding was the perfect theme for the special day they had envisioned for themselves.
They hit the nail on the head as the day worked out to be exactly that.
I met up with Holly and her maid of honour Megan earlier in the day at Neddie's Harbour Inn
while the girls were getting ready I took time to photograph a few details

Shoes & purse were a gift from Holly's mom

The beautiful and oh so simple elegant dress
Something blue

Holly was beautiful in every way

With her maid of honour, who was as beautiful - Megan

The whole bridal party

Too much cuteness!!

Da b'yes

The name of their room at the Inn was called Gadd's Harbour the same location where their ceremony was to take place

And to finish up, this awesome image of Holly. Tomorrow Part 2

Fried Brains & Teasers

So I've been receiving numerous threats, inquiries, comments, etc about my lack of blog posting.
Seriously my brain feels fried with the frustration I've been experiencing with technology. First my laptop has gone kaput, I've been two days trying to download and install photoshop on my dad's ancient computer and now everything runs so slowing that its like pulling teeth just to perform a basic task!!!
In the meantime, I'm pulling a late night just to post a few teaser photos from Holly & Jason's wedding.
Full blog post to follow so please be patient. I understand completely how aggravating it is going on someones blog to see NO updates.
I apologize again and in advance cause I have a feeling my month in Nfld is going to be filled with technology frustrations :(

**Note** These photos are completely un-edited and straight out of the camera images that were taken the day of the wedding.

More to follow...hope this quick teaser holds you over til then

Newfoundland Bound

Been running errands and packing all day. Have no idea how I'm going to get everything that I need there, actually considering going out and buying another suitcase this evening once we're settled away after dinner....eesh!!!
Probably won't have a post tomorrow since I'll be traveling most of the day.

To hold you over until Friday here are a couple of photos of Jesse, Boone & Maggie

Please excuse the disaster of toys in my living room

Probably the only time I've seen Boone and Maggie this close.
Both were trying to get away from Jesse.....LOL. Poor pets :(

Happy "hump day" Wednesday!!
